About the Exhibitions
For the first time, Bathurst Regional Art Gallery (BRAG), Cowra Regional Art Gallery, and Orange Regional Gallery are sharing the richness of their collections to create three unique exhibitions, each with a different thematic approach: Grounding, Retrospection, and Affinities. Presenting familiar and unfamiliar works in new contexts, each exhibition sparks fresh conversations, fosters community pride within the Central West, and strengthens cultural tourism across the three destinations.
Plus: BRAG continues to celebrate and support regional artists with a new Foyer Gallery exhibition by Sarah Randall, The Long Way.

Grounding: Stories from Three Collections
Grounding: Stories from Three Collections at BRAG explores the ways in which artists respond to place and the ways in which regional collections reflect the histories and identities of place. Grounding looks at regional, national, and international artists across medium and time who consider the physical, emotional, and cultural significance of place. Importantly, the concept of ‘grounding’ is deeply embedded in Wiradyuri and First Nations culture through connection to Country.

Sarah Randall
Sarah Randall's work explores the intersections between humanity and the natural world, capturing places of human interference: cleared land, introduced vegetation and built infrastructure. Despite our efforts to shape and control the environment, nature maintains a quiet, persistent resistance.
With Randall living on Wiradyuri/Wiradjuri Country in Central West NSW, The Long Way draws directly from the familiar landscapes of Orange, Macquarie Woods, Bathurst, Portland, Lewis Ponds, Reid’s Flat and Browns Creek, portraying distinctive rural forms unique to our region.

Getting Here
BRAG is located in the heart of Bathurst on Wiradjuri Country in the Central West of NSW.
Entry is via the Gallery/Library forecourt located at 70-78 Keppel Street. BRAG is accessible by public transport.
Victoria Pass Closure: A detour is currently in place on the Great Western Highway following the closure of Victoria Pass in both directions - but don't let that halt your road-trip adventure as there are Other Ways to the West. The region is still very much open for business, and there are some genuinely spectacular ways to get here.
