What is the show?

Tall Poppies is a show in which you (the audience) are invited to prepare a five to seven-minute true story about yourself.

The theme this time is HOLIDAYS

We want your stories of hectic family reunions, escapes from the norm into the otherworldly, difficult times of year made special in unexpected ways, travel stresses and successes, and taking your free time/life by the jingle BELLS and making the most of it. Journeys of returning to your roots or planting them amongst new, chosen family. Planes, trains, vans boats, boots - what have you been up to in your pockets of leave and what did you learn along the way? Give us your stories about HOLIDAYS

Do I have to tell a story?

NO, much of the audience will watch. But seven names will be drawn to share their stories and anyone who might want to tell a story is STRONGLY encouraged to prepare one and give it a go!

How do I prepare a story? GOOD QUESTION! Here is some advice to get started:

* Use the broad theme of the evening to inspire memories of personal, life-changing experiences. Choose one of your most memorable and share the moments leading up to and after the experience.

* Humor is always welcome, but don’t feel obligated to be funny. True voices on stage are just as powerful as humor.

* Try writing it down to get it down to five minutes and to pinpoint the most crucial moments you want to include.
