Tengo el gran honor de invitarlas a una experiencia única que he decidido llamar Tamales y Terapia. No es un evento cualquiera. Es una celebración de nuestra cultura, nuestra resiliencia y nuestras vivencias compartidas.

Imaginen un espacio seguro exclusivamente para latinas, donde aprenderemos a hacer deliciosos tamales mientras nutrimos nuestras almas. No necesitas ser experta en la cocina; este encuentro se trata de conectar con amigas, nuestra cultura, la sabiduría ancestral y, sobre todo, con nosotras mismas. Compartiremos historias, saborearemos nuestras creaciones y encontraremos apoyo mutuo.

Nuestra querida anfitriona, Nancy Díaz, no solo le apasiona la cocina, sino también apoyar a mujeres como psicóloga en temas de salud mental. Nancy comprende el poder de la comida y la comunidad en el proceso de sanación. Por eso ha unido sus dos pasiones para crear algo verdaderamente especial.

Durante esta sesión de 3 horas, vamos a aprender lecciones importantes de la vida a través del poder de cocinar.

En este espacio, vamos a reír, llorar, bailar, ensuciarnos y sanar. Aquí seremos auténticas, sin máscaras ni pretensiones. 🌟

Y gracias a la magia de la masa, conectaremos con nuestras emociones mediante una actividad de brainspotting, una terapia holística que nos traerá sanación en nuestros cuerpos.

As the name suggests, Tamales y Terapia isn’t just any event. It’s a celebration of our culture, our resilience, and our shared experiences.

Imagine a safe space exclusively for Latinas, where we’ll learn to make delicious tamales while nurturing our souls. You don’t need to be an expert in the kitchen; this gathering is about connecting with new friends, our culture, ancestral wisdom, and, above all, with ourselves. We’ll share stories, savor our creations, and find mutual support.

Our beloved host, Nancy Díaz, is not only passionate about cooking but also about supporting women as a mental health professional. Nancy understands the power of food and community in the healing process. That’s why she’s combined her two passions to create something truly special.

During this 3-hour session, we’ll learn important life lessons through the power of cooking. In this space, we’ll laugh, cry, dance, get messy, and heal. Here, we’ll be authentic—no masks. 🌟

And thanks to the magic of masa (dough), we’ll connect with our emotions through a Brainspotting activity—a holistic therapy that brings healing to our bodies.

So get ready, invite your comadres, and let’s create magic together! 🎉 If you’d like to bring products from your culture, like mate, PAN, or your favorite rebozo, feel free to do so. And if you don’t have something from your country, don’t worry—just come with an open heart. This is an event you won't want to miss as you'll leave with an abundance of connections and healing through community.

Note: This event will be in Spanglish. If you’re not completely confident speaking Spanish, please still join us because this event is about reclaiming our culture and language, and everything that has been lost. First and second-generation (or even beyond) Latinas and female-identifying Latines are welcome. 🌟

I would like to acknowledge that we will be meeting on the traditional lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. As a migrant, I also recognize the resilience and wisdom of indigenous peoples globally. Let us honor their rich cultures and continue the work of reconciliation and understanding.
