Everyone is welcome
This 5 week tamariki (children) classes are open to children 0 - 10 years of age. An Early childhood focus learning in Te Reo Māori. Each lesson is 1 hour.
Lessons are bilingual, and will focus on singing, movement, and craft activities.
Based on the Sunshine Coast at The Woombye school of arts, Woombye.
Lessons are taught through song and dance movements, then an activity to consolidate the learning.
We will cover topics ranging from colours, numbers, poi, alphabet, activities and book reading.
Our five strands of learning create a focus on each child’s:
• Manu Atua/well-being
• Mana Tangata/contribution
• Mana Reo/communication
• Mana Whenua/sense of belonging
• Mana Aotūroa/exploration
There is an emphasis on family, and unlike teacher-led services, such as kindergartens. This means that parents are closely involved in the learning and caring for children.
This is not daycare service. Parents must supervise their children at all times, and join in on the learnings.
Language, culture and whānau are at the core of Manaaki reo.
