Event description

Practical solutions for leaders and teams to gain clarity and reduce the stress

We are in a new epidemic. It’s one that’s costing our health, our productivity and our people. It’s burnout. We became good at making big decisions fast. But pivoting is problematic when we do the first part, but not the second. We are quick to make significant change in direction but fail to reset the big picture as a whole. So we end up staying in a permanent state of urgency. We end up just piling initiatives on top of what we already have. It feels like drinking from a firehose.

No one operates well when they are in overload. We keep telling ourselves we don’t have time to stop and make the decisions we need to, to reduce the volume and the sense of chaos. And it’s not as simple as dropping some projects and re-setting new goals.

We need to do an audit of our current work, the business as usual, and projects on top. The landscape is changing quickly so this can become a moving target. Prioritising the problems we need to solve and understanding what has the biggest impact needs to be our focus. This can be done more easily than we think.

Georgia Murch, best-selling author, speaker and workplace expert has been working with the great places to work and those aspiring to be for over 10 years. She has also run teams and business units and worked in public and private sectors for over 35 years. She is Founder and CEO of Can We Talk, which is committed to creating workplaces where people love being at work. She knows her stuff.

In this half day you will:

  • Use data to build an assessment of your current workload
  • Work through a decision-making tool to prioritise your attention
  • Learn to say no well while maintaining relationships with key stakeholders

As well as working through your own overload, these pragmatic tools can be taken back to your teams and workplaces, to create a ripple effect that lasts. It will also create a more permanent way of making decisions about what to work on in the future.

Who's ideal to attend?

  • You lead a team or project that has more work than you can manage
