Who should attend:

This session is aimed at Trustees/Directors/Committee members and senior staff in organisations seeking to broaden their senior leadership team, or organisations developing a succession plan for their senior team

Overview:
Concerned about the diversity of your organisation? Worried about succession planning in relation to your Trustees? Then come and explore how to encourage younger individuals to join your organisation and support the work that it does.

There are benefits to having a range of voices working at a strategic level in our organisations and this session not only focusses on these benefits and the benefits for the individuals themselves, but how to tailor your recruitment and appointment systems to find and retain them.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the skills and experience needed for an effective committee/board of trustees

  • Create an inclusive recruitment process to encourage young trustees

  • Design a personalised induction process

  • Evaluate effective, inclusive and supportive meeting processes

  • Explore effective communication skills to ensure a young person's voice is heard

Please note the following instructions:

  • Handouts and training notes will be issued.

  • Please bring your own pens and anything else you might require.

  • Car parking is available on site, free of charge.

  • Do let us know if you have any additional needs we should be aware of.
