    Event description

Resident artist Tessa Harris (Ngāi Tai Ki Tāmaki) is a multi-disciplinary artist who works at city scale, integrating her art into buildings, bridges and well-known public artworks while also creating intimate and personal Taonga.

Drawing on her fundamental knowledge of Raranga (weaving) and Whakairo (carving), Tessa explores traditional mediums such as stone, bone and wood as well as contemporary silica-free Corian fabricate and glass.

In this five-day workshop, Tessa will lead us through design ethos, encouraging inspiration through hands-on making and allowing materiality to guide our design decisions. Participants will be introduced to a range of machinery, tools and techniques to aid in the creation of a unique and highly finished Taonga.

    All materials supplied.
