Tap Sundays
Event description
The Tap ProjectÂ
TAP SUNDAYSÂ
The Tap Project classes will be suited to beginners, young passionate dancers wanting to grow their skills or older students who need to blow some dust off their boots. We offer dancers a non-competitive environment focused on development and community.Â
Tommy J Egan will take the lead with guest mentors who are hand selected for their experience in the class room and on stage. Tommy has tap danced around the world with his own show The Tap Pack and is sought out as a soloist dancer. He has a truly diverse resume as a performer working with the likes of Tap Dogs, Fame The Musical, The Great Gatsby, Singing In The Rain, Kylie Minogue, X-Factor, and Australia’s Got Talent.
10:am-11am Adults Class (Beginner/Intermediate)Â
This is a fun class with a focus on dancing to Jazz music. This wouldn’t be suitable for someone who has never tap danced before but only a few weeks in an introductory class would be sufficient to reach the level. In the future I hope we can offer an introductory class at the start of each term.Â
11:00am-12pm - IntermediateÂ
13+ years oldÂ
Perfect for young dancers (13+) looking to advance their skills and for adults eager to challenge themselves. This class emphasises musicality and technical development.
As our community grows, we aim to establish a performance team and offer opportunities for younger members to progress into the Tap Project Company.
If enrolment allows, we may split into two groups to better cater to various skill levels.
Term dates 9th of Feb - 13th of AprilÂ
Term fees
Intermediate class: $250.00Â
Adults class Half term week 1-4:Â $125.00
Adults class Full term: $250.00Â
You can pay for the term via bank transfer. Please log your payment via this event page under the "payment notification", if you have done so.Â

The Tap Project Tour are one of only a few organisations solely dedicated to tap dance, in Australia. We affirm tap dance as an African American art form with a rich and complex history. With this, musicality and improvisation form a core of our style. We are all about creating an environment that is non-competitive with a focus on learning and inspiring. Our hope is to grow the community of tap dancers in Australia.Â
