Join the artsbus for a tapestry arts workshop at Fishermans Bend Circular Design Collective.
The program takes place on the lands of the Boon Wurrung People of the Eastern Kulin Nation.

It doesn’t take a fancy toolkit or a flashy budget to spark innovation. Sometimes all you need is a second-hand picture frame, a few strips of old t-shirt, and a child with an idea.

This spring, FB IDEAs is turning the Fishermans Bend Innovation Hub into a pop-up weaving studio as the AKC artsbus rolls in for a hands-on school holiday workshops. Taking place on Thursday 25 September from 11AM - 12:30PM, the workshop invites young creatives —and their grown-ups—to get tangled up in the creative chaos of circular design.

Participants will build their own looms from discarded picture frames, then learn to weave using spaghetti yarn—a textile made from upcycled t-shirts. It’s crafting with a conscience: a tactile, joyful way to explore reuse and sustainability, one loop at a time.

The concept is deceptively simple: make something, waste nothing, and share ideas in the process.
