Understanding Our Groundwater: Trinity Aquifer Public Meeting & Study Update

Residents and well owners in Spicewood and the surrounding communities are invited to join a public meeting to learn about new research on the Trinity Aquifer in southern Burnet County and how to participate in the study.

Researchers will share findings from earlier phases of the project in the Krause Springs and Little Cypress Creek watershed, including new insights into groundwater–surface water interactions and the recharge areas that sustain local springs and creeks. The meeting will also introduce the next phase of research, focused on understanding groundwater movement through the Sycamore layer of the Trinity Aquifer near Spicewood.

Local well owners are especially encouraged to attend, as researchers are seeking volunteers to participate in an upcoming coordinated groundwater-level measurement event.

Coffee, water, and light refreshments will be provided.

The study area includes communities in and around Spicewood and Smithwick.
