Ōtari Raranga Weavers at the Micro Mill
Event description
In this workshop Linda of Ōtari Raranga Weavers will teach us raranga techniques. Depending on your experience, you will learn putiputi, kono, or konae. Class is open to beginners & intermediates. Harakeke will be supplied but if you are an intermediate student you are welcome to bring your own.
Please arrive from 5:30pm to settle in with us. We will begin the workshop at 6pm and it should not run later than 9pm.
This workshop is offered by Micro Mill, a weaving collective based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara offering pop-up activations for connection through textiles. Our March activation is centred around showing support for Nöl Collective, based in Ramallah, Palestine, and the many families trying to evacuate Gaza. A portion of your workshop fees will be donated in a lump sum collected through the activation, to the family linked below.
