Event description

As part of Tas Whisky Week, AON presents Meet the (Boiler)maker at The Royal Oak.

A Boilermaker is the paring of a beer and whisky to create a drinking experience greater than the sum of its parts.

Now if you bring it up a notch and use all Tasmanian craft beer and Tasmanian whisky you reach divine levels.

Choose your beer from the extensive tap list at The Royal Oak and chat to the distillers which whisky would go well hand in hand – the possibilities are endless!

An extensive grazing station and roving canapes will take care of your appetite and provide the energy to get moving to the sounds of Captain O'Brien's Craic!

Performing Distilleries:

Ticket includes:

- 6 x 15ml. whisky tastings

- 3 x pots of beer

- Finger food

- Raucous live music

- Great banter!

Doors open 6.30pm – come early to enjoy one of the best pub meals in town (kitchen open from 5pm).

Cheers, and sláinte mhath, cobber!

About Captain O’Briens’s Craic:

Hailing from Launceston in Tasmania's north, Captain O'Brien's Craic are a 7-piece Punk/Pop/Folk band drawing influences from traditional Irish and Celtic sounds.

After cutting their teeth at their local pubs, 2021 saw the band take to the festival circuit with their powerful and captivating show.

Sounds Like:

Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, The Real McKenzies. Or as a fan described:

“If Green Day, The Living End and Mumford & Sons has a threesome in Ireland and a baby was born from that event .. Captain O’Briens Craic would be that glorious offspring!

The Royal Oak is Launceston’s premier live music venue. With a full refurbishment of the large “Oak Shed” Band Room, live music is entertaining locals and supporting great Aussie talent.
