Tas Whisky Week - The Great Eastern Whisky Weekend
Event description
The Great Eastern Whisky Weekend marks the commencement of Tas Whisky Week 2024 in style.
Over two memorable nights, guests are immersed in the world and camaraderie of Tasmanian distilleries with the unparalleled allure of Tasmania's East Coast.
The gathering will epitomise a Tasmanian Whisky Convergence, a celebration where the cardinal directions converge over a shared love of whisky: East, West, North, and South.
The featured distilleries and their respective maestros are as follows:
South – Kristy Lark-Booth and Killara Distillery
North – Chris Condon and Launceston Distillery
West – David Debattista and Hellyers Road Distillery
East – Michael Briggs and Ironhouse Distillery
The weekend's proceedings will be overseen by a whisky figure familiar to some in Tasmania: Mr. Mark W Teague, as his alter ego WhiskyisMyJam.
With a select capacity of only 35 guests, an exclusive atmosphere is curated to fully engage with the distillers and charming hospitality of your hosts.
The program includes a series of ‘mini’ events, hosted by each distillery offering guests an intimate opportunity to delve deeper into their chosen spirits. Expect hikes with a dram, beach side activities, live music by one Tasmania’s best blues artists Pete Cornelius & Band, gourmet catering by Season and Fire culminating in a grand dinner held in the atmospheric bonding room.
Beyond the tasting sessions, Ironhouse Distillery will unveil an exclusive on-site store dedicated to showcasing the products of the participating distilleries, granting guests the chance to take home their favourite bottle of spirits.
Our ambition is to infuse this event with the distinct charm of Tasmania's East Coast, drawing inspiration from the region's rich history and iconic landmarks surrounding Ironhouse Distillery and the idyllic White Sands Estate.
We look forward to creating unforgettable memories during this once-in-a-lifetime weekend to kick off Tas Whisky Week 2024!
