Tasmanian Menopause Summit
Event description
What is the Tasmanian Menopause Summit?
The Tasmanian Menopause Summit is the first event of its kind in Tasmania — a half-day gathering designed to raise awareness, break the silence, and normalise the conversation around perimenopause and menopause. Through keynote presentations, expert panels, networking, and an exhibitor showcase, the summit will shine a light on the physical, emotional, and social changes of perimenopause and menopause. It is a movement to empower women, amplify voices, and transform the way our community and workplaces view this life stage.
Who is behind the Summit?
The Summit is the brainchild of Dr Zelinda Sherlock. She is the CEO of Sherlock & Dutta Consulting, the Deputy Lord Mayor of the City of Hobart and a respected advocate for meaningful change. Experiencing perimenopause herself, Zelinda recognised the urgent need to bring menopause out of the shadows and into the public spotlight. Her vision was to create a landmark event where women could connect, learn, and be heard.
To bring this vision to life, she partnered with Husna Pasha, a nationally recognised keynote speaker, occupational therapist, and founder of The Happychondriac Society. Husna’s reputation for breaking stigma with warmth, humour, and authenticity made her the perfect partner to co-create a space where difficult conversations become empowering and inclusive.
Together, Zelinda and Husna are shaping not just an event, but a movement, one that will redefine how Tasmania approaches menopause.
Why this event matters
Perimenopause and menopause impacts not just health, but also women’s participation in the workforce, financial security, and well-being. Yet, it remains largely under-discussed. The Summit is about sparking open dialogue, providing evidence-based insights, and building a supportive community. It’s an opportunity for Tasmania to lead the way in addressing an issue that affects every woman, directly or indirectly.
