Description

There is a practice beneath the practice.

Beneath the postures, the sequences, the breath cues, there is a living tradition. One that understands the body as a field of śakti, rest as the deepest form of practice, and depth as the only direction worth moving.

Taste of Tantra is four hours on a Saturday afternoon rooted in that tradition. Small group. Held space. No performance required.

This is not an introduction to yoga. It is an introduction to what yoga was always meant to be.

What becomes possible

People come to this practice carrying things. The weight of patterns they can't seem to shift. Habits that have outlived their purpose. The exhaustion of managing a life that looks fine on the outside. A quiet sense that something essential has been buried under years of doing, achieving, pushing through.

This practice works at the level where those things live.

Through Traditional Hatha and Yoga Nidra rooted in Sri Vidya Tantric lineage, you begin to burn through the limitations that have felt fixed. Old patterns stored in the body start to release - not through force, but through deep recognition. The nervous system remembers what safety feels like. The mind, given permission to stop, begins to clear.

You leave this afternoon feeling lighter. More yourself. Less driven by the unconscious loops - the reactivity, the self-criticism, the distractions, the busyness, the reaching for things that don't actually satisfy. In the Tantric tradition, these patterns are called samskaras - grooves worn deep by repetition. This practice interrupts them. Gently. Profoundly. Over time, reliably.

This is not a quick fix. It is a practice. And like all real practices, it compounds.

What We Do

First half — Traditional Hatha The ultimate practice for mind stability, energy cultivation and building inner fire. Using asana as the foundation, we incorporate deeper Tantric techniques - Pranayama, Bandha, Mudra, Mantra and Meditation - drawn directly from the lineage. It is deliberate, layered, and quietly demanding. We work with energy, not just the body, and begin the process of clearing what no longer belongs.

Break — Snacks & Integration A long, unhurried pause. Tea, something nourishing, silence or conversation — whatever the body asks for. In the Tantric tradition, nourishment is not separate from the path. It is the path.

Second half — Restorative Hatha & Yoga Nidra We return to the floor. Supported shapes release what the first practice opened. Then we move into Yoga Nidra - the practice of conscious sleep from the Tantric lineage. Lying still, guided beneath the surface of ordinary awareness, you access the layers of yourself the busy mind never reaches. This is where the deepest integration happens. Where the patterns that live below conscious thought begin, quietly, to dissolve.

You don't do Yoga Nidra. You receive it.

We close with reflection and integration. You leave different from how you arrived.

This Is For You If You have a yoga practice and hunger for the tradition behind it. You are done with wellness as performance. You want to stop managing your patterns and start dissolving them. You are ready for four hours held in lineage, not trend, with others who feel the same pull.

This Is Not A beginner's class. A wellness event. A place to perform your practice. A quick fix.

FAQs

  • Do I need to have yoga experience?

Yes. This immersion is designed for people who already have a yoga practice and are ready to go deeper. You don't need to be advanced, but a basic familiarity with asana and breathwork will help you get the most from the day.

  • Is this suitable for complete beginners?

Some familiarity with yoga is helpful. This immersion is designed for those who are ready to explore the tradition behind the practice. If you're completely new to yoga, feel free to reach out to Clare before booking and she'll let you know if it's the right fit for you.

  • What should I wear?

Comfortable layers you can move and rest in. The practice moves from active to deeply still, so you'll want to be warm for the second half.

  • What should I bring?

A water bottle and journal/notebook. Everything else - mat, props, blankets, snacks and tea - is provided.

  • Is food provided?

Yes. A nourishing break with snacks and tea is included in your investment. Please advise of any dietary requirements or allergies at the time of booking.

  • How many people will be in the group?

Maximum 8. This is an intentionally intimate container.

  • Is this a religious event?

No. Taste of Tantra is rooted in the Sri Vidya Tantric lineage - a philosophical and practical tradition. It is not affiliated with any religion. People of all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome.

  • Is this the same as what people call "tantric sex"?

No. The popular Western use of that term has little connection to the actual tradition. Tantric lineage is a sophisticated system of philosophy, energy work, and practice. This immersion is firmly rooted in that authentic tradition.

  • What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra is the practice of conscious sleep - a guided inward journey that takes you to the threshold between waking and dreaming. It is deeply restorative, profoundly integrative, and one of the most powerful practices in the Tantric tradition. No experience is required. You simply lie down and receive it.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

Taste of Tantra is a no-refund event. If you're unable to attend, transfers to a future date are welcome up to 48 hours before the event. Please contact Clare directly to arrange.

  • How do I book?

Spots are confirmed on payment. Maximum 8 - when it's full, it's full.

  • Will this run every month?

Yes. Taste of Tantra runs on the first Saturday of each month. Some people come once. Others make it their monthly practice. Both are welcome.
