A message from Taylah:
I am one of the community leaders taking part in Stars of Newcastle 2024.

There are 10-12 of us who fundraise for Cancer Council NSW Newcastle and Hunter, have one dance lesson per week and perform at the Civic Theatre on Friday September 20 all for a good cause!

Cancer Council NSW is 94% community funded, therefore funds raised from Stars of Newcastle go right back into the community supporting all cancer patients in our region. Cancer Council NSW provides support to all cancer patients no matter what diagnosis, or age and their support ranges from:

• Transport To Treatment: Run by a team of volunteers that take patients from the Hunter Valley from Lake Mac to their appointments and home
• 13 11 20 – The support line that patients, their carers and families can ring for any type of support needed during the cancer journey
• Home Help – Patients in Newcastle can request a $350 voucher for groceries, or to be taken off a utility bill etc…
• Research
• Information services at the Calvary Mater and at Maitland Hospital
• Financial and Pro-Bono support – all free
