Te Ao Earth Week: Get out in Nature Weekend 23/24th Sept 2023

Terra Nova Foundation invites individuals, communities and local businesses in greater Ōtautahi Christchurch to join us to encourage and embrace nature over the Spring Equinox weekend of Te Ao Earth Week.

We are inviting groups and organisations that would like to promote their nature place or nature-related activity to join the Te Ao Earth Week ‘Get out in Nature Weekend’, encouraging people to celebrate Spring and be active outdoors. If you would like to register your nature spot or project or you would like to organise a relevant activity/event to correspond with this weekend please get in contact.

We have organisations opening up their doors, tree planting, group nature walks, qi gong classes, garden talks, demonstrations of unique local environmental projects, and opportunities to explore our amazing trails and reserves, and more! The options are limitless. This is your opportunity to be part of celebrating the beginning of Spring and to help people connect with nature. This initiative is a key part of our mahi at the Terra Nova Foundation to help put earth first so we can all thrive.

Te Ao Earth Week offers exciting occasions for public participation. The week-long program of events includes a major event at Te Pae for businesses (21st Sept), a Student Day for student-led action across UC, Ara and schools (22nd Sept), a weekend of outdoor connection across greater Ōtautahi Christchurch (23rd/24th Sept) and workshops, share kai feasts and much more across the week (18th-24th Sept). will include an array of outdoor activities such as All designed to foster a hands-on approach to environmental awareness and sustainability.
