Have you watched a shadow play before?  Do you know how it works?

This fun programme shows you all about shadow pupperty with fun, hands-on activities. Learn all about shadow puppetry and the history and stories behind them.  You will get to make your own shadow puppets and write their stories.  Finally, you will get to take turns telling the story you have written with a fun shadow play.  You can work by yourself or in a group.  Help with story writing and shadow puppet making is provided.

Parents/caregivers are welcome to watch the shadow puppet play performed by participants at the end.

Ages: 7-12 years 

Skills required: Competent reading, writing and speaking at a senior primary level (English language)

  • Visiting the libraries under the COVID-19 Protection Framework
  • Age range/restrictions - Please make sure your child meets the age range/restrictions for this programme. Bookings received that do not meet these requirements will be cancelled 
  • Consent Form - We require an online consent form to be completed for every child attending our programming. We only require one form per child per calendar year. Please either complete your required Consent Form here or alternatively follow the link during the booking process
