Event description
Join us to share and celebrate Shyla and Derrin's journey and be inspired to start or continue your whakapapa journey.
Nau mai, haere mai.
Shyla and Derrin invite you to a screening of their episode of Te Hokinga Mai - The Return, not only to share their haerenga across the motu but in hope of inspiring others to do the same and to help raise funds to support their next whakapapa haerenga to Te Taitokerau – Nanny Teowai Clarke nee Rogers, Ngawha.
Over the past 12 months, Shyla and Derrin have been on an incredible journey reconnecting with their whenua, whānau, and whakapapa. This journey was captured as a part of an 8-part documentary series - Te Hokinga Mai: The Return - that follows the intimate journey of people from all around the country as they connect with their Māori whakapapa and whenua. Some are embarking on a journey of connection for the first time, others are further down the track.
Tonight we share Shyla and Derrin's episode, along with two other stories - Gabriel (TE ĀTI
HAUNUI-A-PĀPĀRANGI) and Ngahina TARANAKI IWI.
Join us to share and celebrate Shyla and Derrin's journey and be inspired to start or continue your whakapapa journey. Come dressed to impress and red- carpet ready.
