TE KOHUROA REWILDING'S COMMUNITY CONSULTATION DAY

Sharing the positive impacts of the 2025-26 season of rewilding!

Join Te Kohuroa Rewilding and a panel of guest speakers on Saturday 23rd May to learn about the outcomes of the 2025-26 rewilding season and to add your voice to the future of marine restoration at Te Kohuroa Matheson Bay.

This season has brought together an incredible mix of community volunteers, organisations and conservation experts, all working to improve the health and wellbeing of the freshwater catchment and marine ecosystem. We invite you to come along and celebrate the project’s achievements.

Learn about this year’s rewilding success

Be the first to hear this season’s highlights, including increased freshwater monitoring, visible kelp regrowth at the restoration site, and a series of community restoration days to harvest kina for kaimoana (seafood) to support kelp recovery.

Have your say on TKRI’s next steps

We want to hear your feedback on the project’s future! Come along to share your experiences, participate in our community polls, and take part in the consultation process that will help shape the next season of rewilding.

Connecting and Celebrating

A shared lunch will be provided on the day and we’ll highlight key contributors and volunteers to demonstrate how collective action is making a difference in the bay.

We are so grateful to everyone who contributed to this year’s efforts and we're excited to share the outcomes of this year’s mahi (work). Join us for the final event of the season to celebrate our collective impact and vote for the future rewilding actions you'd like to see at Te Kohuroa Matheson Bay.
