Te Kohuroa Rewilding - Rocky Shore with Asian Communities
Description
DISCOVER THE OCEAN, CONNECT WITH COMMUNITY.
About the event
Te Kohuroa Rewilding invites members of Auckland's Asian communities to join us for a day of ocean discovery on Saturday 24th October.
This free, hands-on experience is an opportunity to explore the rocky shore and the fascinating marine life that lives along our coastline. Come along and learn about the restoration work taking place at Te Kohuroa Matheson Bay, and discover how these experiences relate to your own wellbeing and sense of belonging as Asians in New Zealand.
With support from experienced guides, you’ll explore the rockpools, learn how to identify local marine species, and discover why these habitats are so important to the health of our coastal environment.
The day is also an opportunity to connect with others, spend time in nature, and explore what it means to feel connected to the places we live. Whether you are new to Aotearoa, have lived here for many years, or simply want to discover more about our local marine environment, we welcome you to join us.
No previous conservation or marine experience is required — just bring your curiosity and a sense of adventure!
