Join Te Mana Hā for an opening concert of waiata and a special guest from Ōtautahi, singer and songwriter Lisa Tui Jonathan (Tainui, Ngāti Wairere, Ngāti Kahungunu). Lisa has a background in singing, songwriting and musical theatre that spans genres: classical, some jazz, gospel, country, funk, and blues. 

Lisa studied at the Nelson School of music and the Nelson Polytechnic of the time in the 90's. Since then she is a graduate and past tutor at N.A.S.D.A., Ara, Te Pukenga, she studied New Zealand music at Otago University and with Lifetime Learning.

She performs regularly in Christchurch at Jazz Bar, Vesuivios and is preparing to share her own Music Education method and philosophy that has evolved from her practise with Taonga Puoro, her time as an Artist in residence at Te Matatiki Toi Ora, the Kodaly method and her quest to learn Te Reo. 

Lisa is an ensemble member of 'Pou Ataata', 'Sweet Spot', 'Under the kitchen sink' and 'Toroa', all bands that offer Original compositions as well as Jazz.

Te Mana Hā is a group of wāhine based in Whakatū that share the passion of singing waiata and learning te reo Māori.
