Celebrating 30 Years of Te ORA

To mark this milestone year for Te ORA, Hui-ā-Tau & Scientific Conference will return to Waipapa Marae, University of Auckland, the site of our very first hui.
Titiro whakamuri, kōkiri whakamua
Look back and reflect, so we can move forward.
We will pay tribute to those whose mahi paved the way for Māori medical leadership and made it possible for Māori voices to be heard and valued within medicine and across the wider health sector.
We will also look to the future with hope. To the new generation of rata and tauira who represent the dreams and aspirations of those early Māori practitioners; they are the driving force for the transformational change our people need.
Over three days, we will celebrate what it means to thrive as Māori in medicine — across our past, present, and future. This is an opportunity to socialise, connect, learn, and contribute to the future of Māori health in an uplifting space.
Please note: The Awards Dinner is not included in conference registration this year and requires a separate ticket.

UPDATE: Tamariki Programme
We had been working to provide a formal tamariki programme as part of Hui-ā-Tau this year. Unfortunately, some of the arrangements we had in place have fallen through and, at this stage of planning, we have been unable to secure an appropriate alternative that meets the requirements for a safe and suitable programme.
Tamariki and whānau are still very welcome to attend the hui, and we will have space available for tamariki. We simply ask that tamariki remain under the supervision of a parent, guardian or caregiver throughout the hui.
We apologise for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate your understanding.
If you're planning to bring tamariki, please complete the tamariki registration for each individual so we can understand numbers and ages.
Discounted Accommodation
Delegates are welcome to book accommodation at Cordis for Hui-ā-Tau, with a discounted rate available. To keep the booking code for delegates only, details will be shared by email directly with registered attendees. Please reach out directly if you require the accommodation link prior to registering.

- Who can attend Hui-ā-Tau?
Hui-ā-Tau is open to Māori medical practitioners, trainees, tauira, whānau of delegates, sponsors and invited partners and supporters of Te ORA. The Annual General Meeting is restricted to members only.
- Do I need to be a Te ORA member to attend?
No, there are options for Non-members to register for the full conference, or for one day attendance.
Tauira and PGY 1/2 doctors are required to be members to take advantage of free registration.

- What does my registration include?
Registration gives you access to the full three-day programme, including all conference sessions, wānanga, the Medical Careers Expo and catering during your time at Hui-ā-Tau. The Awards Dinner is a separate ticket.
- Is the Awards Dinner included in my ticket?
The Awards Dinner is a ticketed event and must be purchased in addition to your registration.
- Can I attend just one day?
Yes — one day registrations are available. Select One-Day Conference Access.
- What support is available for tauira and PGY 1/2 doctors?
Travel and accommodation support closed for tauira and PGY 1/2 doctors on July 15th.
- What accommodation options are available?
We have secured a discounted rate at Cordis for delegates. We will share the discount link with delegates after you have completed registration.
- Can I bring tamariki?
Yes — we are planning a tamariki programme depending on demand. You must register each child individually so we can assess numbers and age ranges. Final details will be confirmed closer to the event.
- Will kai be provided?
Catering will be provided across the hui. Specific details will be shared closer to the event.
