Te Puke o Tara – Hampton Park

Thurs 4 Dec, 10am – 12 noon

Meet at the reserve entrance carpark next to 344 East Tamaki Road.  Along from the old stone church on the hill.

Take a Free guided walk and talk with your community park ranger and a member of the historic St Johns Church through this fascinating reserve. Learn about its extensive Māori and European cultural heritage and the incredible stories of this unique place.  Increase your understanding of the volcanic and geological history of the area.  This is a rare opportunity for people to visit some unique historic stone stables and one of the oldest surviving stone churches in Auckland.  Hampton Park is the former property and home to well-known early European setter Gideon Smales. An average level of fitness and mobility is required.
