Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu - Whānau Ora Symposium 2023
Event description
Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu is proud to present Tēnei te Pō! Tēnei te Ao!
Join us in Ōtautahi to celebrate, learn and share the collective stories of Whānau Ora across Te Waipounamu at our annual Whānau Ora Symposium.
As the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency for the South Island, we work to respond to whānau innovation, to foster and grow inspirational ideas that are whānau-centred, intergenerational, locally driven, and provide direct impact for whānau to enable independent transformational change.
Each year, it is our great honour to bring this precious South Island-wide network together, and this year is no different.
The 2023 Whānau Ora Symposium will be held in Ōtautahi on Thursday, September 21 and Friday, September 22 at the Majestic on Durham.
The theme for the symposium is:
TĒNEI TE PŌ! TĒNEI TE AO!
Renew, Realign and Restore
Believing in whānau; investing in whānau; being inspired by the wonder that is each whānau.
This year we focus on the need to continually realign back to our kaupapa, whānau.
The emphasis on renewal is cyclical; after the fresh snowfall of winter comes the tender shoots of spring.
In much the same way, after the interruption of COVID, we now have a chance to look anew and with each new season, comes the calling to restore – to realign to our central purpose of believing in whānau; investing in whānau; being inspired by the wonder that is each whānau.
Day 1: Tēnei te Ao!
Day 1 will start with a welcome and kai, followed by an incredible line-up of speakers (to be announced) to inspire and engage with. With a panel style-format, we welcome attendees to make the most of this time and ask questions. All kai on the day (morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea) will be provided by Kai Connoisseurs, one of the fantastic businesses in our Whānau Ora network.
During the breaks, check out the local market displays made up of vendors Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu has supported.
Tēnei te Pō!
The celebrations continue at the Christchurch Art Gallery from 7pm. Join us for an evening of delectable local kai and entertainment from local artists.
NB: Tickets for the dinner are an additional cost to Whānau Ora Symposium tickets.
Day 2: Tēnei te Ao!
Come early so you don’t miss our market vendors.
And then, sit back and continue to be inspired with our Day 2 line up of kaikōrero. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be served.
