Te Reo Māori Workshop Series

As the first tangata whenua urban precinct, te reo Māori is an intrinsic part of our place. We want to see our reo Māori flowing through our laneways, streets and buildings and this month we take it up a notch for Mahuru (September) Māori and Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori!

There's no better time than now, to take the step and learn te reo Māori. Whether you had a Kura Kaupapa upbringing or this is your first time giving te reo Māori a go, this space is for you! Consider it your judgment free zone to talk, learn and ask all the questions you've been yearning to have answered.

With these workshops you'll be equipped with some basic day-to-day words and sentences you can use around the office. Each weeks workshop will focus on something new.

Each week’s workshop will focus on something new:

Thursday 12 September: Pronunciation, basic greetings/farewells and the DNA of te reo Māori.

Thursday 19 September: Mihimihi and basic introductions.

Thursday 26 September: Basic tikanga for opening/closing hui and karakia.

Thursday 03 October : Recap on previous learnings.
