Te Wiki Āhua o Aotearoa - In Over our Heads
Event description
Te Wiki Āhua o Aotearoa FW25
The system is broken. The promises that were made to us are no longer being kept. We were promised that studying hard and working harder would secure a future worth having. But no matter how many jobs we obtain or how qualified we are, we’re all barely staying afloat.
Creatives refuse to work for conglomerates that care more about turning profits than cultivating the arts. This leaves us the margins and footnotes of every conversation - and we left a lot unsaid in our past show week.
This March’s Te Wiki Āhua o Aotearoa FW25 continues to focus on promoting and platforming emerging and early career artists from all areas of Aotearoa’s creative scene.

In Over our Heads
Fringes Garments and jeweler designer Anthurium presents "In Over Our Heads", a collection that explores the surreal journey of young professionals stepping into adulthood amid an uncertain economy.
It is an exploration of perception and texture, blending trompe l'oeil and surrealism to highlight the gap between external professional expectations and the inner chaos of navigating multiple jobs and income streams.
Designed for those balancing ambition with practicality, ‘In Over Our Heads’ delivers garments that speak to the demands of modern life in Aotearoa—where clothes must serve both purpose and perception, reflecting the evolving challenges and triumphs of our generation.
