GOLD COAST | Teacher preview screening of ‘2040'

Cool Australia, Madman Entertainment, and the producers of '2040' invite you to register for an exclusive free teacher's preview screening of this new feature documentary by Director Damon Gameau (That Sugar Film), ahead of the general release in cinemas around the country in late May.

These free preview screenings for teachers are co-presented by Intrepid Travel, a small group tour operator and a global champion of sustainable tourism.

SYNOPSIS

2040 is an innovative feature documentary that looks to the future but is vitally important NOW.  

Award-winning director Damon Gameau (That Sugar Film) embarks on a personal journey to explore what the future could look like by the year 2040 if we embraced the best solutions already available to us to improve our planet and shifted them rapidly into the mainstream over the next two decades. Structured as a visual letter to his 4-year-old daughter, Damon blends documentary with dramatized sequences and high-end visual effects to create a vision board of how these solutions could regenerate the world for future generations. 

FREE CURRICULUM RESOURCES 

2040 has been created for a younger audience and the filmmakers have partnered with Cool Australia to develop a package of 31 free primary and secondary curriculum lesson plans with accompanying resources to help teachers engage students with the themes of the film. A first release of the lesson plans will be available on the 3rd of April as a sneak peak of the full curriculum package as we are encouraging teachers to engage with the film ahead of its general release. 

As the film will only be available in cinemas until later in the year, teachers are encouraged to attend a preview with a view to making a group booking for your class at your local cinema and utlising the curriculum resources in the second half of the 2019 academic year.  

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUR SCHOOL / STUDENTS TO ENGAGE WITH DAMON GAMEAU 

Teachers who attend a preview screening will also be offered the exclusive opportunity to register for the chance for Director Damon Gameau to visit your school for a special Q&A session during the national tour of the film between the 14th of April to the 23rd of May. Alternatively, you can choose to send a student representative from your school who is actively engaged in environmental issues, along to one of the special Q&A screening events during the tour.
