Teacher Professional Development Day - Cairns

Essential Screen Skills in collaboration with Understory High Film Festival is running a full professional development day designed to enhance your technical skills with workshops to increase your confidence with sound and camera. Limited places available. 

Workshops include:  

• Post-Production Sound Fundamentals using Adobe premiere pro with leading Screen Sound Practitioner Tfer Newsome ASSG. Get the tips and tricks to ensure your sound is balanced and ready for screenings. You must bring your own laptop with the latest Adobe Premiere Pro installed. Your laptop must be fully charged and it is advised to bring adapters for USB or USBc flash drives and your own external hard drive to copy footage and timeline from. 

• Interactive workshop introducing the Canon EOS R50V and its hybrid design for photography. Participants will explore the exposure triangle – aperture, shutter speed, and ISO – before practising techniques in portrait, action, and low-light scenarios. The session also includes an overview of storyboarding for creative projects, an introduction to the Canon EOS Cinema range, and concludes with an open Q&A to address technical and creative questions. 

The day will also include a tour of Screen Queensland’s Cairns Studio and afternoon tea hosted by Canon Australia.
