Join us for an in-person meeting of the Whittlesea Teachers' Environment Network. This meeting will be held at St. Monica's College (Dalton Rd campus) and co-hosted by teacher Ben Coleman. We will have snacks and enjoy a tour of Ben's sustainability projects that is sure to be inspirational! Hume Teachers' Environmental Network members are also invited!

Ben will be discussing:

Circular economy – the links between the compost, vegetable gardens, food tech and chickens
How to compost in a school setting – solar composts and large 3 bay systems
Wetlands revegetation and student monitoring– increasing biodiversity to include habitat, local indigenous plants, Indigenous uses, etc
STEM Sustainability Projects with Edmond Lascaris – using Arduino and Raspberry pi to monitor birds in schools, tiny house temperature, aquarium nutrient levels, solar powered recharge station, water filtration and Smart Rain tanks
Other garden related issues- no-dig raised beds, watering systems, and permaculture

Food will be provided, so please register your dietary needs upon registration with your school email address.

Please find parking along Dalton Rd as the staff car park will be inaccessible.

5:00-5:30 Meeting, snacks, socialising
5:30-6:00 Ben will lead us on a tour of the wetlands and their compost/chickens projects and Edmond Lascaris, Stormwater Management Specialist from City of Whittlesea Council will share some exciting water monitoring projects
