Tue, 9 Sep, 8:15am - 1:30pm ACST

Event description

The SACE Board invites senior years Teaching and Learning Leaders to join us for our second biannual conference for 2025.

The SACE Board Strategic Plan 2024 - 2027, Passport to Thrive, describes how the SACE Board and school communities can collaborate to create a qualification for a changing world.

Through our work with schools over the last four years, the following key drivers have emerged as the most impactful, and directly inform current SACE Board strategic directions.

Deep Authentic Learning: Students discuss and apply learning from familiar and unfamiliar situations across a range of meaningful and relevant real-world situations

Student Agency: Students are proactive in the co-creation of their learning pathway and influence how they undertake, demonstrate and action their learning.

Natural Evidence of Learning: Capturing the diverse authentic forms of students’ demonstration of learning and achievement, better reflecting what students know and can do.

Metacognition: Students understand and evaluate their thinking to regulate the way they learn.

SACE Capabilities: Complex competencies - a mixture of elements including attitudes, skills, values, knowledge and beliefs - that are developed directly and indirectly through learning and assessment design.

The day will focus on hearing from schools that have been actively testing key SACE Board initiatives, reflecting on the challenges and opportunities that arise and how to make our next steps practical.

What to expect

This semester’s event will spotlight exciting developments in the subject renewal program, including:

  • real-world stories from Subject Renewal Group members and their students, showcasing outcomes from prototype testing and showing how the key drivers are being brought to life in classrooms

  • insights into capability development, and how the key drivers support this work

  • opportunities to collaborate with fellow Teaching and Learning Leaders, exploring practical ways to lead this change within your school.

Irrespective of your school’s involvement in the subject renewal program or SACE Board pilots, this event is for all Teaching and Learning Leaders to authentically engage, learn more about what is practically required to lead the change, and to feedback to the SACE Board.
