Event description

The Hilltops Suicide Prevention Network and Young Medicare Mental Health Centre invite you to a special community event exploring mateship, resilience, and mental health.

Join us for an inspiring evening with:

  • Boyd Cordner – Former NRL player and captain of the Sydney Roosters, NSW State of Origin, and Australian Kangaroos, sharing his journey through unexpected change, resilience, and the power of mateship.

  • Edwina Planten – Local clinical psychologist, bringing insight into mental health and the importance of community support.

  • Rhys Cummins – Founder of the Murrumbidgee Men’s Group, sharing lived experience and the value of connection.

The evening will include keynote talks, a panel discussion, and a Q&A session, giving our community the chance to connect, reflect, and strengthen conversations around mental health.

Why attend?

  • Hear powerful personal stories about resilience and mental health

  • Gain insights from local professionals and community leaders

  • Be part of an open, supportive conversation that reduces stigma

  • Connect with others in the Hilltops region

This event is free, but places are limited - so please secure your ticket to avoid missing out.

Let’s come together as a community to support one another and keep the conversation about mental health alive.

If you have any questions, please email event organiser Emma Whitechurch at ewhitechurch@gph.org.au
