Tech Aware Online Safety Week and Cyber Security Awareness Month x VPCC - Workshop Event@VPCC

Tech Aware Cyber Go Workshop at VPCC

Friday 17 October | 10:00am - 1:00pm

As part of Tech Aware Online Safety Week and Australia's Cyber Security Awareness Month, VPCC is proud to host the Tech Aware Cyber Go Workshop, an engaging and interactive session that combines cyber safety education with the ancient strategy game Wei Qi (Go).

This unique workshop uses the principles of strategic thinking, planning, and decision-making to help participants understand and respond to online challenges. Through hands-on activities and gameplay, attendees will learn practical skills to recognise online risks, protect personal information, and build confidence in the digital world.

Rather than a traditional presentation, the workshop encourages participants to learn through experience, exploring how the same strategies used in Go can support safer and smarter online behaviour.

What You'll Learn

• How to identify scams, phishing attempts, and online fraud

• Ways to protect your personal information and digital identity

• Practical cyber safety habits for everyday life

• Critical thinking and decision-making skills for navigating online environments

• Strategies for building online resilience and confidence

Who Should Attend?

Suitable for community members of all ages and experience levels. No prior knowledge of cyber security or Wei Qi (Go) is required.
