Teds X Nikon Illuminate Photo Walk

Join Ted’s and Nikon’s seasoned expert Toban Darley for a night of hands-on photography and pure creative magic during the spectacular Illuminate Adelaide Festival.

Explore the vibrant streets of Adelaide after dark, where historic facades and city spaces are transformed by mesmerising light, colour, and sound. This special two-hour photo walk is your chance to sharpen your night photography skills, try out the latest Nikon gear, and capture extraordinary moments under expert guidance.

Meet at Ted's from 5:00pm, we will leave the store at 5:30pm

Whether you're learning or levelling up, this is a night that will light up your photography—and your imagination.

What will you learn?

• Mastering tricky exposures in scenes with bright highlights and deep shadows

• Framing show stopping nightscapes with confidence

• Optimising your settings to capture dazzling light installations

• Using creative features as double exposure and slower shutter speeds

What to bring:

• Your camera, fully charged! Want to try something new? Ted’s will have Nikon Z-series mirrorless cameras available, including the brilliant new Z5II (don’t forget your SD card).

  Already using Nikon Z? Get hands-on with a range of Z lenses to test and experiment with.

• Shutter Release (if you have one): Great for long exposures and sharp night captures.

• Comfortable Shoes & Weather-Smart Attire: We’ll be walking the city streets and chasing the light, so dress accordingly!

• Please bring Photo ID for loan equipment

Please do not bring tripods, we aim to shoot everything hand held
