Course Description:  This training will provide clinicians with an in-depth understanding of Teen Dating Violence (TDV) and its unique dynamics. Participants will explore how TDV differs from adult intimate partner violence, the impact of abuse on teens’ emotional well-being, and development, and the role of social media and technology in these relationships. The session will also focus on the challenges teens face in disclosing abuse and seeking help.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define Teen Dating Violence (TDV), including its types of abuse and the impact of social media and technology. 

  • Explore the unique dynamics and characteristics of Teen Dating Violence (TDV) and how it differs from adult Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).

  • Examine the impact of Teen Dating Violence (TDV) on teens, including its effects on emotional well-being, mental health, and overall development.

  • Identify the challenges and barriers teens face in disclosing abuse and seeking support.
