Teen Expedition Expression of Interest
Event description
Teen Expedition 2024! We are going to have a great adventure Canoeing in and around the Eurimbula National Park.
This is an Expression of Interest ONLY for Staff & Junior Counsellors that are members of South QLD Pathfinder clubs.
Pre-Requisites
It is a requirement that the following honours are completed before attending Teen Expedition:
- Swimming 3
- Canoeing
Limited Numbers
We are only able to take limited numbers of Adult Staff and Junior Counsellors.
A note regarding what we are looking for with our staffing for Teen Expedition:
We are currently looking for Expressions of Interest for Unit Leaders and Junior Counsellors. All the other staff positions for Teen Expedition are assigned directly by the Teen Expedition committee.
We are looking for people who have the energy and enthusiasm for looking after a group of teens for a week, but will also be assisting in whatever other areas are required. This role is very time consuming but also very rewarding.
Cost
Please note that all Junior Counsellors will be required to pay the full cost for Expedition - $200, $50 Canoe hire if required. This will be requested upon acceptance as a member of the staff team.
Medical Conditions:
Due to the physical activities and remote location of Teen Ex, we will be asking in this application whether you have any serious medical conditions. We will then assess the risk of having you as a member of our staff team at expedition which may contribute to our decision around selection.
We will be using Operoo to collect medical details for this, so you must ensure that your Operoo profile is up to date with all conditions selected and all medications and dosages listed.
All medical information disclosed is kept confidential and only used as required for medical care during the expedition. The health information provided will be shared with other health professionals in the event that additional medical care is required.
Selection Process
Our selection process will be based firstly on seeking out those staff who have experience, qualifications, licences and other skills that we need for this expedition. In the event that there are a number of staff who meet all of our criteria we will then select based on who registered their expression of interest first.
