Telling Queer Stories with Seth Malacari
Event description
Award-winning writer Seth Malacari (he/they) has made waves in the literary world by questioning the queer status quo.
As an author and founder of Get YA Words Out, Seth champions diverse representation of queer identities, reminding us that "the queer experience is more than just rainbows, 'equal love' and death" and their work reflects this belief.
Recently, Seth edited the popular collection of queer speculative fiction called 'An Unexpected Party'.
Taking on the challenge of telling authentic queer stories in a world created by mainstream publishing is no small feat. For sure, Seth's work matters if you are queer, or an aspiring writer. But more importantly, Seth's work matters if you are a person who moves through a world that has been shaped by storytelling.
Seth's writing interrogates who tells these stories, who gets to be in them, and how a world that tells different stories might change the one we live in, for the better.
Join us for a very special writer's on writing event as part of our Perfectly Queer festival. Everyone is welcome.
