OneFamily Parenting Seminar Series - Understanding and Parenting the Temperaments

In person parenting seminar hosted at Arma Dei Academy - Everyone is welcome!

Wednesday, April 2, 2025, 6:30-8:30pm

Temperaments are proto-psychological types that influence us on a subconscious level. The various strengths and weaknesses of our temperament is the underlying reason we experience the world the way we do, why we behave the way we do and tend to repeat those patterns of behavior.

With this information, many people discover why they get along better with some people and feel more comfortable with them – like our spouse and friends for example. For parents, it helps us to understand why we parent the way we do and why we may or may not be connecting with our children. Understanding the temperaments can give you helpful insight to yourself, understanding for others, and strengthen your relationships.

Prior to the Seminar, you will receive  a PDF Temperaments Assessment with instructions.

We will cover:

• The history, background and science behind temperaments
  
• What are strengths and weaknesses of each temperament
  
• Understanding your and your spouse's test results 
  
• Parenting the temperaments - child specific - awareness of emotional needs and "trouble hot spots".

Seminars are designed for husband and wife to attend together, but we welcome and encourage single parents to join us!

3/5/2025 - The Top Five Most Common Mistakes That Undermine Parenting - As parents, sometimes, we can be our own worst enemy with our parenting efforts!  We'll identify and discuss those areas that may or may not be obvious and offer ideas for overcoming those common mistakes including:

• Parents not on the same page and overcompensating styles
• Entitled child / Negotiating child
• Giving instructions that lead to compliance
• Choices/Freedoms/Responsibilities
• Creating a Life-Giving home environment
