Description
The Advanced Airway and Ventilation workshop is suited to both novice and experienced learner and will be of value to medical officers, nurses, nurse practitioners and paramedics who wish to develop or consolidate skills in emergency airway management and provision of respiratory support to the patient with respiratory failure.
The course will explore the features indicating a patient with a potentially problematic airway, pharmacological agents used in airway management, preparation and equipment for rapid sequence intubation, basic and advanced airway techniques and front of neck access. Ventilation will consider the range of options for providing respiratory support and provide training in high flow nasal prong oxygen, noninvasive ventilation and ventilation in the intubated patient. The workshop is delivered in a supportive learning environment and uses interactive online pre-learning to cover core knowledge and a one day workshop for procedural skills and simulation training.
