TEN-360: Advanced ECG Interpretation 2027
Description
Early Bird Closes 22 July 2027
For Medical Officers, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Paramedics
The workshop provides the opportunity to take a deep dive into the two major areas where ECG interpretation most significantly impacts on clinical diagnosis and management: Acute Coronary Syndrome (Acute myocardial ischaemia) and Cardiac Arrhythmias. The workshop utilises a case based interactive approach to training, an approach that promotes learning and confidence with ECGs interpretation (and makes the learning enjoyable!).
We explore not only the commonly recognised features of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) but the many exciting ECG clues for ACS that have been identified only recently as the wider availability of coronary angiography has facilitated a broader understanding of the ECG in acute coronary syndrome. The second topic of cardiac arrhythmias is explored with a wide variety of clinical examples that allow learners to become confident in the "spot diagnosis" for common arrhythmias and recognise the often subtle ECG diagnostic findings seen in uncommon or atypical presentations of cardiac arrhythmias.
At the completion of the workshop learners will be have the skills and knowledge to rapidly scan and identify key ECG abnormalities suggestive or diagnostic for acute coronary syndrome and be confident with the diagnosis of a wide range of cardiac arrhythmias encountered in clinical practice.
Please note: A basic understanding of ECG interpretation is assumed in the workshop. For those a little rusty in ECG interpretation or keen to review this topic we have provided prelearning that covers the ECG basics required for the workshop. The prelearning is optional and provided only as an aid to helping learners prepare for the workshop.
