TEN-360: Introduction to Pocus 2026

This entry level, half day introductory workshop is suited to medical professionals, nurse practitioners, nurses and paramedics with no (or minimal) experience with bedside ultrasound.

The workshop will assist the learner to become confident to setup a range of common ultrasound machines, identify the types of probes and their uses, identify how to change/switch between probes and become familiar with the core fundamentals for image optimisation.

The workshop will allow the learner to focus on one ultrasound technique of their choice enabling them to incorporate their POCUS training into clinical practice. Options include:

·       POCUS assessment for Deep Vein Thrombosis 

·       Ultrasound guided joint injection/aspiration

·       POCUS assessment for Pneumothorax

·       Ultrasound guided intravenous cannulation and venesection

·       Ultrasound guided nerve block
