TEN-360: Emergency Radiology Interpretation 2027
Description
Early Bird Closes 6 May 2027
For Medical Officers, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Paramedics
This workshop explores the critical role of imaging in assessment of the emergency patient with the aim of building confidence to view and interpret plain x-rays and and CT scans in the setting of emergency clinical practice. Using an interactive and engaging format, the workshop allows learner to explore the range of imaging abnormalities encountered with plain X-ray imaging of the upper limb, lower limb, chest and abdominal x-ray. This will significantly benefit clinical professionals working in clinical settings where they are required to view and interpret plain x-rays prior to/in the absence of a formal radiology report.
A second aspect of the workshop will introduce learners to interpretation of CT head scan. The session will build confidence in recognising both normal and abnormal CT findings and is particularly relevant to clinicians working in the setting of acute care where the CT scan images may be available for viewing in advance of formal reporting. The ability to recognise common acute pathology on the CT scan will often inform clinical decision making and planning (eg for transfer/retrieval) well in advance of the formal reporting process enhancing the clinical decision making process with potential benefits for patient outcomes.
The workshop will particularly benefit medical officers, nurses, paramedics and NPs working in settings where they have the opportunity to view plain x-rays and/or CT scans as part of their clinical practice.
