Event description

At Ponsonby Community Centre, Term 2 2025 we will be running 2 DnD adjacent campaigns every Friday for 9 weeks. It will take place every Friday at 4.00-6.00PM from the 2nd of May to the 27th of June. Tickets will cost $160.00 for the whole term, per child. This activity is appropriate for ages 10-16. This term, Ardeth and Leo will each be running 1 unique campaign. These campaigns will take all 9 weeks to complete, with character creation happening on the first week. If you are unable to make it to Week 1, we will either have pre-made characters for you or quickly make one for you the session you arrive. One campaign will be using the TTRPG (Tabletop roleplaying game) system of Call of Cthulhu which is a horror/mystery campaign, and the other will be using Shadowrun, mainly focusing on action/adventure encounters.
There are only 8 seats available for Call of Cthulhu so book ASAP.

Call of Cthulhu is similar yet different to DND with separate rules. Due to the nature of Call of Cthulhu  please be aware that they will contain elements of Horror and are not advised for people under the age of 10. (Anyone who has previously completed a full Call of Cthulhu campaign with the ReCreators at Ponsonby/Massey should be fine).

Campaign 2: Call of Cthulhu
In this Call of Cthulhu campaign, all the investigators have set off to the Far North via a bus heading to the rural, Northern Alaskan town of Oshawa. When their bus malfunctions in a blizzard outside of Oshawa and the driver disappears into the storm, the players are left stranded in Oshawa, completely cut off from the rest of the world. In their attempt to leave before the frequent blizzards consume them, the investigators are forced to face threats from all angles. Blizzards, Criminals, Freezing Temperatures, Deadly Wildlife and the Treacherous Terrain are only some of the obstacles in their way as they try to survive the stalking's of an ancient creature, long lost from the knowledge of humanity, hunting them from the ice.

Players will not need to bring anything in order to play but you may bring any of the following: (Bolded Items would be preferred to be brought if possible)

  • Food
  • A Drink Bottle
  • DND style dice
  • Pens/Pencils or Erasers
  • A Phone

Please note that that players need to follow instructions given by the host, it is a collaborative not competitive game. If instructions are not followed, it will disrupt the game for all players. Please let us know if your child has any issues with this.

These sessions are run by 16 year olds for tweens/teens but an adult will be present at all times within the building incase of any emergencies.
