First Nations Exhibitions

Guns, Spears & Spectres Exhibition |  27 May – 20 August
The Heartbeats of a Shell Necklace: First Nations Adornment Exhibition | 27 May – 20 August

Both exhibitions feature the artworks of contemporary Indigenous artists. The curator of both shows, Jayson Althofer, will be available to speak to the group about the works on display.

This PD aims to target Australian Curriculum V9

  • Yr 7/8 AC9AVA8E02 investigate the diversity of First Nations Australians’ artworks and arts practices, considering culturally responsive approaches to Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property rights
  • Yr 9/10 AC9AVA10E02 investigate the ways that First Nations Australian artists celebrate and challenge multiple perspectives of Australian identity through their artworks and visual arts practice
