(Term 3) 8-week Beginner Wheel throwing with Potterbee
Description
Join local ceramicist Rebecca Young @Potterbee for a beginner’s wheel throwing class.
What You’ll Learn:
How to prepare and centre clay on an electric pottery wheel.
Throw and trim tumblers, small bowls, side plate and attach handles.
Decorate your creations using various techniques and glaze options.
When & Where:
Day: Thursdays
Date: 23rd July - 17th September 2026
Time: 06:00 PM – 8:00 PM each week
Location: Nelson Community Potters, 136 Rutherford Street
What to Bring:
A towel and an apron.
A creative spirit and willingness to get a little bit dirty!
4kg of clay is included in the ticket price, after that clay can be purchased for $5 per kg from your tutor.

Your finished pieces will be glazed and available to collect up to 3 weeks after the class finish date.
Please note this is an 8 week course, but there may be a week off in the middle to allow for extra drying time or unforeseen circumstances. A bit of flexibility in this may be required, hence the finish date at the 9 week mark.
