Term 3 CASUAL Stay and Play sessions
Description
Casual Stay & Play (Ages 0-12)
A gentle introduction to Born Wild Community
Our Casual Stay and Play sessions run on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays alongside our Bush Kinder and Forest School programs.
This is a family-led experience where children explore our nature-based learning environment at their own pace, while parents stay onsite and supervise.
For many families, Stay and Play is the first step into the Born Wild community - an opportunity to experience our approach before enrolling into our term programs.
A window into our Bush Kinder & Forest School programs
Stay and Play allows families to:
experience the same natural environment used in our Bush Kinder and Forest School programs
observe how children engage in child-led, nature-based learning
join in activities offered within our structured programs when appropriate
see mixed-age play in action across the site
decide whether term enrolment is the right fit for their child
If your child is enjoying the space, you are welcome to extend your visit by booking additional hours on the day.
Why families start here
Many families use Stay and Play as a transition pathway into:
Bush Kinder (drop-off program, ages 3+)
Parent Stay Bush Kinder (younger children or settling transition)
Forest School and Born Wild Academy (older children 7+ seeking deeper outdoor learning experiences)
It provides a low-pressure way to build familiarity, confidence, and connection before committing to a term place.
What children do
Children (with their supervising adult) may:
explore natural play spaces
engage with loose parts and invitations to play
observe and participate in Bush Kinder or Forest School activities where appropriate
move freely between rest, exploration, and social interaction
There is no fixed structure-children are supported to follow their curiosity in a safe, thoughtfully prepared environment.
Babies and young families
For families attending with a baby, a $7 contribution supports site use and insurance.
Babies in arms are free with a paying sibling.
We value these early experiences as an important introduction to nature, community, and sensory exploration for both child and caregiver.
From Stay and Play to Term Enrolment
Stay amd Play is intentionally designed as a pathway into our term-based programs, where children benefit most from continuity, routine, and deeper relationships with educators and peers.
Families who join term programs experience:
stronger social connections
deeper learning over time
familiarity with routines and environment
consistent relationships with educators
For this reason, term enrolment is our preferred model, with casual visits acting as an entry point or occasional attendance option.
Mixed-age learning community
Born Wild brings together children from babies through to 12 years, creating a rich mixed-age environment where:
younger children learn through observation and exploration
older children develop leadership and empathy
siblings can stay connected across programs
Each program runs concurrently with its own dedicated facilitator to ensure safety, quality, and appropriate developmental support.
Community and purpose
Born Wild Community is a registered charitable social enterprise. All income is reinvested into programs, resources, and increasing access for families.
As a self-funded organisation, programs must meet minimum enrolment numbers. If a session cannot proceed, families will be offered an alternative or a full refund of registration fees.
