This course is aimed at both experienced and inexperienced students keen to develop their watercolour skills .
Class is conducted with students painting the same piece as the tutor live in the studio.
Tutor provides ongoing critique and advice where needed, during the class. Questions and discussion of aspects relevant to improving or understanding the watercolour process are part of the classes.
The tutor is available online to help with the completion of the piece in between classes if an exercise is not completed within the class time. A variety of subjects, of the Tutors choice, is done during the term. Material guide is provided.
Materials required:
300 gsm rag cotton watercolour paper. Either pad form or loose sheets.
Tubes of watercolour. Suitable palette (one which allows plenty of mixing space is preferable). Watercolour brushes soft with good points, not bristle brushes. Hand towel, tissues, masking tape. Drawing board ( about 500 x 400 MDF 3 mm thickness).
This is a suitable starting point, and there may be a need to expand some of these materials.
