Skill Development Program for Primary School Players

This program offers a fantastic opportunity for junior basketball players seeking additional training, led by experienced NBA-approved coaches. It’s designed for different age groups and genders, with sessions that blend fun and skill development to ensure every participant has a productive and enjoyable experience!

ROOKIES Ages 6-8 (born 2018-2020)

ALL STARS Ages 9-12 (born 2014-2017)

Player groupings are carefully optimised each session to ensure every player has the best opportunity to learn, grow and compete the NBA way!

Lead Coach: Ing Lau

Ing has 25+ years of coaching and playing experience across Australia and Malaysia and a proven record of championship success, elite player development and building winning cultures from junior to professional levels.

As Head Coach of the Inner West Bulls Men in the NBL1 East, he led the Bulls to a winning percentage of 73.8% and rank #1 nationally in turnovers forced. In 2026 he became the Head Coach of the Southern Tigers Men in the NBL1 Central competition and has them playing an up-tempo high-efficiency style that has them top of the league in possessions per game.

Ing is a former ASEAN Basketball League player and Malaysian National Team representative who also played semi-professionally in NSW for the Parramatta Wildcats, Hills Hornets and Hornsby Spiders. He holds a Master of Education (Sports Coaching) from University of Sydney and holds a Level 2 Coaching Accreditation for Basketball Australia and Basketball Malaysia.

His coaching philosophy is to create high-performance environments where athletes thrive through discipline, accountability, and continuous development. Emphasise defensive excellence, basketball IQ, and a team-first mindset to help players and teams achieve sustained success.

Lead Coach: Quinn Campell

Quinn is the current Manly Warringah U18 Boys Head Coach with years of experience across top Australian private schools including Pymble Ladies College, Barker College, and Roseville College as well as private athlete development with multiple NSW State Team players. Quinn has been a Head Coach at Flight Basketball Victoria - an elite Canadian AAU program.

Quinn is an elite shooter, his abilities earnt him a basketball scholarship to the University of Victoria Men’s Team in British Columbia, Canada, where he graduated from in 2023 and stepped into the role of Analyst and Graduate Coach with the team.

Lead Coach: Matthew Thomlinson

From the UK, Matthew has years of experience coaching youth players and academy/high school teams as well as assistant coaching experience with the City of Birmingham Rockets, a semi-professional team in England. He's currently coaching multiple teams in the Youth Sports Australia Club as well as the prestigious basketball program at Barker College.

He holds a degree in Sport and Exercise Science and a Master’s in Strength and Conditioning. His player development style combines both on-court skill work with strength and conditioning principles.

Lead Coach: Harold Talan

With experience as both a collegiate and professional player, Harold has competed for the Philippines National University and Lyceum of the Philippines, before playing professionally in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), FIBA 3x3 Philippines, and AsiaBasket Malaysia. His strong playing background provides valuable insight into high-performance environments and athlete development pathways.

As a coach, Harold has worked across elite junior programs in Australia, including the MIC Academy in Melbourne, Elite NSW U14 Camps and international competitions through the Philipino National Basketball Training Centre. His coaching highlights include leading the Maharlika Bears U16 team to Summer Competition and JOFlow Winter League championships. Harold is passionate about developing players within representative and high-performance pathways.

Manyiel Wugol

Manyiel is a professional basketball player, mentor, and proud South Sudanese‑Australian. Manny has earnt his spot on the Sydney Kings roster for NBL 2026/27 after highly successful seasons in the NBL1 with Southwest Slammers and the Southern Tigers. His US college scholarship career included playing at Southwestern Community College, ASA College and Florida National University.

Manny has been coaching youth basketball in Australia since returning from the US in 2022 and has run highly successful Wugol basketball Camps in both WA and SA.

Manny is passionate about making the next generation better and being a leader in the community.
