Term 4 2026: Modern Mixed Media with Mim Hercus

Dates: Monday 5 October, 2026 - Monday 9th November, 2026

Time: 1.00pm - 3.00pm

This course will offer a contemporary look at the world of Mixed Media. Expand your horizons and explore creativity using a multitude of media in exciting combinations. Anything goes in this course; make sure to pack your sense of adventure and willingness to play as we experiment with different projects. Instruction on materials will incorporate techniques using watercolour, ink, acrylic, pastels, pencils, printmaking, collage, artist book-making skills, gouache and markers (amongst other things) to provide Inspiration and Fun.

Materials will be supplied for this course, but participants should feel free to bring along anything they would like to be creative with; this course is all about exploring. 

Participants are requested to make sure that they bring their own standard Kit for Creating, which consists of:

• Cutting mat (A3)

• Cutting knife and spare blades

• Pencil

• Metal Ruler 30cm

• Scissors

• Sketchbook

• Glue (preferably liquid, acid-free PVA)

• Small paintbrush or toothpicks for Glue

• Masking Tape

• Towel or Table Cloth

• Apron

• Selection of Waterproof pens (eg Pigma Micron) in various nib sizes (0.05, 0.1, 0.8, Brush etc)
