What is it?
We have two programs on offer on Thursday nights to suit the whole family.

Primary School Homework Club (Prep–Year 6)
A welcoming homework space for younger students. Volunteers provide friendly support to help with homework, reading, and learning activities. Students can work at their own pace and gain confidence in schoolwork.

Stay & Play Sessions
While older siblings are at homework club, younger children can join our Stay & Play sessions. Was have a range of activities for little ones to engage with alongside their parents.


When is it?

Our homework club for primary school students runs every Thursday afternoon from 4pm - 5.00pm at Fawkner Neighbourhood House. Dates for term 4 are:

Where is it?

Our program runs from Fawkner Neighourhood House at 79 Jukes Road, Fawkner, in CB Smith Reserve. It is the orange brick house located in between the skate park and the leisure centre.

Who can attend?

Students in years prep - year 6 can attend homework club, while children under 6 can 'Stay and Play' with their parents.


How much is it?

These programs are free. There is no cost for students and families to attend.

What to expect:

Drop your kids off at 3.50pm where they will be welcomed by our friendly volunteers and staff. They will be invited to grab a snack, then make their way to our study room, where volunteers are ready to help. You'll be invited to hang around for a cup of tea, or if you have younger kids, you're welcome to stay and play with them with toys and activities generously donated by the library.

How can my child join?

RSVP using the RSVP button below or call us on 9359 1824. You can sign up for a handful or all sessions. We ask you to do this to help us with planning and make sure that we're ready to support your kid/s.

Who runs the homework club?
Our homework support program is coordinated by Michelle Sowey. She brings experience as an educational designer, facilitator, and writer with a strong commitment to equity in education. Michelle has previously led philosophical inquiry workshops for young people and developed co-curricular programs with a focus on critical thinking, collaborative learning, youth voice, and civic participation. She holds an Honours degree in Philosophy from UNSW and is completing a Master of Education at UNE.
